Sprachassistenz im Englischunterricht

Eva Liebhart: Im Schuljahr 2021/22 wurde das Team der Englischlehrerinnen durch die englische Sprachassistentin Hannah Eastbury unterstützt. Durch die regelmäßige authentische Kommunikation mit einer Native Speakerin konnten die Schülerinnen und Schüler ihre Englischkenntnisse verbessern und erhielten durch Hannahs interessant und abwechslungsreich gestalteten Unterricht spannende Einblicke in die englische Gesellschaft und Kultur. Wir bedanken uns sehr herzlich für ihr großes Engagement im Unterricht!

Hannah Eastbury: As my eight months in Waidhofen have come to an end, I can very confidently say that I will always treasure my time here and will look back on the year in the Gymnasium incredibly fondly. Staff and students alike have all been incredibly welcoming, both in and outside the school and I have had the opportunity to join in with so many great events and trips, even in the midst of the pandemic! During my time as a language assistant here, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting so many classes, all of which have been both great fun and astoundingly good at English! Their keenness to learn made my job so much easier and, of course, it was great to watch the students improve throughout the year. They should all be incredibly proud of themselves!

I thoroughly enjoyed being able to give the students (and the teachers!) an insight into British culture and my experiences of growing up in the UK, from the wonders of the seaside in my hometown Brighton, to my experiences studying French and German at the University of Cambridge, and everything in between. It was equally as enriching to be able to truly dive into the Waldviertel culture, particularly the dialect, which I shall proudly take back to Cambridge with me (perhaps to the shock of my university supervisors!) I feel unbelievably grateful to have been placed in such a lovely part of Austria, with equally lovely people and can only say a truly heartfelt thank you to everyone who has made my experience so incredible! I only wish I could stay for another year. I will miss you all and wish you the best of luck in the future!
